Hello everyone,
This is my first post in this forum, as I have recently bought a ProLiant DL580 g5. I am new to the world of enterprise servers, the reason I bought such an energy waste monster is because I needed a Render Node (Cinema 4D, Realflow, Houdini) at least as powerful as my high end workstation (a diy i7 4770k), and this beast was quite cheap...
Anyway, the problem is that the six delta fans are quite loud, even after reducing their speed after the startup, so is there any way to furtherly lower the speed of the fans (that seem to be pwm), or possibly directly control it within Windows (I'm using server 2008r2) or BIOS?
Note:
I've already installed all the drivers, HP System Insight Manager, HP System Management HomePage, HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility. If I open the System Management HomePage, under Overall Status it says "No items" and Management Processor "none" (even though if I start HP Insight Diagnostics as "Other Agent" it gives me a kind of list of all the components), if I open HP System Insight Manager I don't know how to authenticate, I've tried with Administrator, relative password (the one I use to login in Windows) and Workgroup as Domain, but it doesn't work, maybe because of javascript. Sorry for the messy spread of infos, but I'm trying all I can, sadly I have never dealt with this stuff and I really don't know where to put my hands on.
Thanks
