Hello,
Can anyone suggest how we can use a SHA2 based SSL certificate for HPE Proliant servers DL 380 Gen8/9 ILOs.
ILOs are running with latest Firmware, but the SSL certificate generated by ILO CSR is SHA1 based which is vulnarable.

Hello,
I wanted to apply the latest BIOS (version from 21/05/2018 - cp036547.exe) for our ProLiant ML370 G6.
During the POST, I could notice the following error "REDUNDANT ROM ERROR: Primary ROM invalid. Booting backup rom. Run ROMPaq to correct error condition".
I then decided to try to create a bootable USB key media (ROMPaq) by using SP99324.exe. When I run the HPEUSB.exe to format the USB key and create the bootable key, I have the following errors:
- syslinux.exe has crashed
- Take too long to execute.
I tried this from different machines with different OS (Win 7, 8.1, Server 2008 R2) but the same happened.
Do you see a way that would allow me to fix our primary ROM ?
Thank you by advance.
Hi all.
I have a Proliant ML370 G5 with a bit of strange problem . There are 8 disks in the first drive bay and disks 5-8 are all showing red leds on the disks. The disks are healthy and not showing any errors in the systems management page. I have also check the array controller firmware and it is running the latest firmware.
Has anyone seen this issue before ?
Thanks for the help
Andrew
ACRA, which is responsible for ensuring that Singapore remains a transparent and trusted business hub, had formulated a set of rules that prohibit a company from having any assets and liabilities before applying to be struck off. It said, “…an individual submitting false or misleading statement or lodging information known to be false or misleading is an offence under Section 401 of the Companies Act.”
I've got a ML350p Gen8 with an LFF cage. I believe it's:
HP 5U 6 Large Form Factor (LFF) Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit 659485-B21
Can I purchase multiples of this, install P420/P430s and run them? Main question is if they will mount in the blank spots above and below the optical drive.
Thanks!

Is there a way to implement this (pretty basic) JBOD functionality without dropping $100 on a separate hardware component?
Simple answer, no there isn't.
As you have discovered the Smart Arrays of that era did not offer the ability for pass-through / HBA mode. Even if you opt to try this add-on card there is no guarantee the system will boot from it.
(see bold sentence at the bottom for TLDR)
I've had my HP Proliant ML350 G6, running Proxmox Virtual Environment 5.2 set up over the p410i controller configured to RAID5, for a little over half a year now, and so far I've been fairly satisfied. However, I recently made the decision to move away from hardware RAID as a precaution against hardware failures, migrating to a more convenient, open-source software RAID alternative called ZFS, which Proxmox natively supports.
After a frustrating weekend of sitting on a concrete floor staring at this board trying to figure out how to disable/uninstall/circumvent this RAID controller, I concluded a few things:
Soo I was at a loss of what to do, and actually gave up for a period of time until the thought occurred to me: "Wait why don't I just install a separate SAS controller on one of the PCIe slots" (as if this was a novel idea that shouldn't have occurred to me immediately).
So I did a bit of reading and found the SAS9211-8I, which is... like, exactly what I'm looking for (which was frustrating to find after spending well over 12 hours trying to figure this out to no avail).
The problem is that this is a $100 card. So now to my actual question:

P.S. Don't you dare tell me to set up each disk as a separate RAID0 volume. I'm trying to avoid HP's proprietary hardware so that, in the event of an emergency, I can just snag my drives and expect to be able to read them later without any special hardware.
Hello,
I was wondering which are the latest, official, version of Service Pack for Proliant (SPP) for the following servers:
HPE ProLiant DL60 Gen9
HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9

Hello there,
Greetings!
Please find the answers to your queries:
1. Can I install a regular SATA HDD in this server?
A. Only the Smart Carrier SATA HDDs are compatible with this server if a drive cage is being purchased.
Please find the compatible ones (both hot-plug LFF and SFF and non-hot-plug drives) mentioned in the server quickspecs guide.
Pg nos : 21 through 23 -> https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getdocument.aspx?docname=c04834991
2. Also, I would like to purchase a default drive cage but don’t know the product number for this server.
A. Below are the available drive cage options:
822608-B21 -> HPE ML30 Gen9 4 Large Form Factor Hot Plug Hard Drive Cage Kit (Recommended)
NOTE:The LFF Kit is a backplane kit designed for going from NHP LFF to hot-plug LFF.
HI Team,
I am working on Upgrading ILO servers using SSP ISO bundle.
Just need to confirm, Is SDD drivers also get upgraded using SPP ISO bundle?
Thanks,
Thiyagu
Hi there,
Greetings!
Please find the answers to your queries:
1. Windows Server 2012 R2 on DL360 Gen9 with Smart Array P440ar Controller
A. Smart Storage Administrator 3.30.14.0 and Smart Array SAS/SATA Event Notification Service for 64-bit Windows Server Editions 6.46.0.64 are the latest versions available.
But Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2012 x64 Edition 62.28.0.64 is an obsolete version which would be the reason for the shared errors to pop-up during the installation of the mentioned files.
If the p440ar controller firmware is updated to the later version then kindly update the driver to the latest version available i.e., 100.20.0.64(A) : https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=7252838&swItemId=MTX_cb822f1666a0472d82c6145b4a&swEnvOid=4184#tab3
If not then kindly share the current p440ar controller firmware version.
2. Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 on DL360 G5 with Smart Array P400i Controller
A. As per HPE, Windows 2012 is not supported by a DL380 G5 server.
Please refer to the OS compatibility matrix link where it mentions the supported HPE servers for Windows 2012 R2 : http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/windows.aspx#.W6NDd-hLiM8
Hence you may proceed with the mentioned steps (for DL360 Gen9 server) on the DL360 G5 but this might or might not work.
Please feel free to get back if any further concerns.

Shruthi

Hi
I am pretty frustrated with a gen10 server we just bought. Intelligent provisining failed to load so I thought updating it would work. The server then failed to recognise the USB. So I gave up on updating intelligent provisoning.
To get around this I tried installing Server 2016 manually. RAID and ILO setup perfectly fine. Now it needs a device drive for the purposes of RAID. So I downloaded the latest SP pack thinking that would solve the problems. This SP pack doesn't have any drivers related to the array. The array hardware we have is P408i-a SR Gen10. This is driving me crazy and the support we have received hasn't been the best. The only drivers I am finding is related to Flash on the HP site and the service pack downloaded has no compatible drivers as it is for different hardware. Please help!
Regards,
Gareth
Now I found the drivers and they still won't load. I am unsure at this point what it is looking for. I tried both and each time they fail with the same error.
Why you need SSD drivers?
SSDs are usually behind a RAID controller, so you don't need special drivers for them.
SPP2018.06, maybe 2018.09 or 2018.10 soon.
Jim ,
There have been two releases of restful api since we spoke last time and I still do not see the IML logs repair feature.
Could you please update everyone here?
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply Torsten.
So, you meant SSD will be upgraded separately.
The SPP ISO bundle doesnt contain update for SSD right ?
Thanks,
Thiyagu
There are nor drivers, because drivers are not needed.
Firmware is included in SPP.
