Replace the controller. Update firmware if needed.
All config information is stored on the disks.
Hello,
I hope you are doing well.
I would suggest you log a support case with the HPE for further investigation to avoid any data loss.

Hello,
SA P822 doesn't support with the DL380 G7.
Please follow the below-supported documents for more clarification.

Hello,
You can replace the faulty P440ar card without any issue.
Make sure to update SA P440ar controller firmware with the latest.

You are right. Smart Array P822 controller is supported on a DL380 G7, but the P812 which is supported, doesn't do SATA 3.0 (6 Gbps), which is what the 4 SSDs in the system use. This is a homelab system, so there isn't any budget to support buying SAS SSDs, or HDDs for that matter, to get 6 Gbps speeds.
If I enable No-Battery Write Cache, the controller can use the cache, and throughput (to the drives) increases. My question is whether the controller utilizes the connected capacitor, in case of unexpexted power loss, while that option is enabled.
Hello Dear All,
My name is Shahrukh and I am looking after a SCADA System. We have 10 number of HP ProLiant DL320 G6 Servers running WIndows Server 2008 for the last 8 years. There is one specific Server (I will call it SERVER2 for reference) which shows the following strange behaviour:
Please help me with this problem. What can be the reason? All other servers in the same cabinet with SERVER2 are working fine with no problem. Only this SERVER2 is showing this behaviour. My observation is only Power Supply Modules get turned off automatically, since power source is from the same UPS for all the servers. All other servers remain normal. I even used those 'problematic power suppllies" with other servers and they worked fine. I even replaced Power Supply modules with new from spares. but same Turned Off issue. Problem seems to be with the SERVER2. Please HELP.

Shahrukh
Hello,
I have a ProLiant ML350p Gen8. I am running it virtualized and looking at getting a NAS for virtual machine storage instead of local disk storage. I don't want to run standard 1Gbps as that would be a signifncant bottle neck for disk speed.
First, does the ProLiant ML350p Gen8 motherboard bus even support running at full 10Gbps? If so, what NIC do you recommend? Should I go with an official HP branded 10Gbps NIC, or can I pickup a standard 10Gbps NIC like this one https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-XG-C100C-Network-Adapter-Single/dp/B072N84DG6/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=10gb+nic&qid=1587195870&sr=8-14
Finally, recommendations on going with stadard Cat 6a or SFP+ connectors?
Thanks.
Hi,
What all PCIe adapter you have installed in the Slot 1, Slot 2 and slot 3?
Have you checked by updating BIOS and ILO to latest ?
Also reconfirm issue with PCIe slot 2/slot 3 ?
Can you please remove any adapter installed on the Riser 1 (Slot 1) and then check the same in slot 3 ?
Any specific adapter not detecting ? can you please share its specification?

Check Standard riser options at page 10
NOTE: If secondary full height kit is installed, then primary PCIe Slot #2 cannot be used. Only 2 full height slots are supported

Hi,
While running "launch_hpsum.bat ", right click and choose run as administrator or run as root user in linux.
else you may get inventory errors.

Hello Sudhir,
Again thank you for the response. Your link booted succesfully and managed to get to get an ADU report from the utility.I hope this pastebin link doesnt delete this reply:
Furthermore the utility gave me 2 yellow alerts:
Code 347: No cache is configured (I have a 512mb cache card inserted with battery)
Code 267: No configurable disks attached to the controller (Could it be they were part of the array or the prev. motherboard so they are tagged as non usable? Do they need low level formatting first?)
Furthermore i have no license installed, but i think thats only needed for advanced stuff.
Bios Post doesnt give me errors. The amber disk lights just all come on when the progressbar is filling. (at 20 30% ish).
ILO3 System Information tab gives me a red X with Failed Status for the drives.. Clicking on that gives me: Drivegroup 1 with backplane firmware version 1.16:
Drivebay ProductID Drive Status Drive UID
1 N/A OK UID ON
2 N/A fault UID OFF
3 N/A fault UID OFF
4 N/A fault UID OFF
Its weird it sees 1 as ok and 2 3 4 as fault, because all lights are on at the front.
I hope you have some ideas.
Regards
Hi,
Now, We know following:
1. Embedded controller P410i detected but no physical drives seen in it.
2. There is a 512Mb cache module but not configured, since there is no logical drive detected.
But you mentioned about 4 drives seen in the ILO.
Which means drives are present but controller is unable to communicate with them.
I have a feeling that drives are configured earlier in Raid 6 which required license.
Can you please confirm, if yes can
RAID Support RAID 6, 6+0 (Advanced Data Guarding)
NOTE: RAID 6, 6+0 can be enabled with one of the following combinations:
256 MB cache, Battery kit and Smart Array Advanced Pack License key
option upgrades
512 MB BBWC/FBWC and Smart Array Advanced Pack License key option
upgrades
1G FBWC and Smart Array Advanced Pack License key option upgrades

Follow the steps below to add SAAP2.0 license key if you have:

or
To install a License Key in ACU:
Reboot and check if logical drive detected.
Enter into ACU utility again and verify whether cache is configured if not, configure is now for the logical drive.
Incase you dont have license key and want to proceed without that then use HP Drive Erase in ACU and then reconfigure different Raid (0/1/5)

Hello Everyone
I plugged a USB 16Go to internal usb port of my DL360p Gen8 server, booted the ESXi 6.5 (HPE custom image) cd and told it to install to the usb drive. Install completed successfully. Went into the BIOS and Set the Internal USB as the primary, then changed the boot order to boot usb first. When the server boots up, it doesn't find anything to boot from and just keeps looping, looking for a bootable device. I tried pressing F11 and manually selecting the usb drive but still nothing. Tried a different usb drive...nothing. Anyone have any idea what I may be missing ?
Thank you
Hello all.
This is Shahrukh. I have a server HP ProLiant DL320 G6, OS = Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Raid-1, iLo-2. The said server went under 2-3 power failure cycles and now the server is stuck at point where when I turn on the server by applying power, the System Health LED on front panel becomes Solid Green and Power Button LED becomes Solid Amber, only PSU fans turned on while other Fans stay off, No Display nothing, the server even not enters POST. It stuck. Please Help.

Shahrukh
I have two HPE ML30 Gen9 servers. One has the Intel Xeon E3-1230 v5 CPU (3.4 GHz). The second has the Intel Xeon CPU E3-1240 v6 (3.70GHz). I'm currently using ESXi 6.7 on them, and run Plex on one of the servers.
I'd like to upgrade the CPU of one of them to an Intel Xeon CPU that supports Quick Sync. Can anyone recommend what Intel Xeon CPUs (that support Quick Sync) will work with the HPE ML30 Gen9? Will the HPE ML30's even support Quick Sync if the CPU supported it?
once again, thank you for the extensive reply.
After entering an old trial key which gave me 60days trial i rebooted the server, still no go.
I Rebooted the HP Smart Start iso once again and performed a full settings reset of the server. It included also the disks. Still no go.
Since the disks do not appear to be spinning, could it be a physical thing? Like voltages as in my opening post?
Hi, go to HPE QuickSpecs portal and, under the Online QuickSpecs section, select Search All QuickSpecs.
Once there search for the string "HP ProLiant ML350p Generation 8 (Gen8)".
The (worldwide valid) HPE QuickSpecs for your HP ProLiant ML350p Generation 8 (Gen8) server is the Edition 57 published 27 August 2015 (Retired).
There you will find that supported and certified HP Network Interface Cards (with 1G and 10G, SFP/SFP+ and RJ45) are listed at page 34:
If I were you - to be 100% sure the NIC will be supported - I'll search one of those 10G Base-T adapters listed above.
Since you're looking for 10GBase-T (Copper RJ45) port(s) - you wrote about Cat. 6 cabling (which is OK) - suitable NICs (both dual ports) would be:
I wanted to upgrade my DL360 G7 to Xeon X5687's after installing them it does not make it to post screen and instead beeps at me quickly, not a steady beep but a very quick on, off repeated. I tried reseating the CPU's but still did not work, I checked for bent pins, and there where none. https://www.harddrivesdirect.com/quickspecs_proliant_DL360G7.php In the quickspecks it says it supports them, but only through HP Factory Integration which I had assumed ment that it was possible to get them working. Any respose would be helpfull!
