Thanks.
I'd like to say that the b120i is a poorly designed card then. Allows RAID 10 but only at half the transfer speed of modern drives....
Thanks.

These 96w new batteries support 24 devices, ok? At least this is reported in quickspecs.
But, what does "devices" means in this information? (1)
Well, I think it's all about marketing techniques.

Unable to add image to the post. It says ISO image extraction failure. What are the different recommended ways to create bootable for similar servers?
Hi,
I have used SPP image to make USB bootable with following settings and it works for me,
Check if that helps,
Run Rufus as an administrator,
Device: choose your USB device <I have tried with 32GB USB drive from scandisk>
Boot selection: Select ISO
Partition Scheme: MBR
Target:BIOS or Uefi
Filesystem: Fat32
Cluster size: default(16K)
Or
You can try HPE USB Key Utility,

or
Unetbootin

Hope this helps,

Hello,
Which model of server you are talking about?
From where you want to enable Intel -VT ? Are you talking about from ILO command line or from OS.
Please clarify the same.
Thanks,
Hi,
Are you trying to make windows ISO image to USB Bootable and getting this error " ISO image extraction failure" ?
Try following
Extract the image, (use 7zip/winrar),
Navigate to the folder and delete autorun file (possibly readonly) ,
Use isocreate tool or any similar tool to make ISO image by selecting the extracted folder.
Now use the rufus again with this image,
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Do you see any "Unsupported configuration" or corrput meta-data for SD card slot 1 or 2 in IML events,
Login to ILO console and check Integrated Management logs event.
In my experience , have seen this issue with one of the SD card and and it failed to sync and eventuallty os failed to boot,
replacing suspected SD card has solved.
Hope this helps!

Hello,
When you try to downgrade a firmware using SUM you get the following options:
- Downgrade Firmware & Software
- Downgrade & Rewrite Firmware & Software
What is the difference between downgrade and rewrite?
What is meant by software here?
Thanks
Hello ,
What is the difference between downgrade and rewrite?
Downgrade means : Lower version from the current version installed
Rewrite means : Overwrite the firmware
Software means: There are so many software listed in the proliant server. That is why they have mentioned software.
Thanks
Hi,
Software refers to : Drivers, HPE Utilities and HPE Agents that was included in the SPP Package.
For more Installation Options, please refer to : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c05391924
Thank you
Hello
Thanks for your reply,
Could you please be more detailed?
thanks
Hello,
The term 'software' in SUM (or SPP) refers to HPE Softwares, which are the utilities and applications released by HPE. These are released to enable specific functionalities, for example: the Smart Storage Administrator for the RAID Controllers OR SMH that provides users to be able to monitor the server from the host OS.

Hello,
Thanks for your interest to know more on this. Please refer below for more info.

Thanks,
Hi
Downgrade will allow you to downgrade the firmware/software from the Higer Version to lower versions.
Whereas Rewrite will allow you to upgrade/downgrade the firmware/software even if the server has same version is in the package. (Eg: If a component is already at v2.33 and if the SPP package has v2.33, it will rewrite this again on the component)

Hello,
The 'devices' there means the Smart Array Controllers and NVDIMM's. It means that the 96W Smart Storage Battery supports 24 of those 'devices'. The quickspecs for the Smart Storage Battery also confirms this. It is a combination of Smart Array Controllers and NVDIMM's, that cannot exceed the count of 24, is what that statement is referring to.
While we know about the requirement of the Battery for the Smart Array Controllers, the HPE Gen9 servers have support for NVDIMM's as well which also need battery backup for their functionality. These are 8GB NVDIMM's and on a standard 24 DIMM Slot Systemboard, we can support a max of 16 NVDIMM's.
From the monitoring ability, the iLO is capable of monitoring the Battery and display its status as well. While it does not show the number of 'loads' connected, it provides an ability to monitor it without any OS dependency.

Vador
For creating a bootable USB device from a SPP you should only use the included USBKey utility.
There are config files included in the ISO that are used to create a bootable device.
