Hi All HP Gurus,
I am so happy that HP release PowerShell module HP BIOS Cmdlets becuase it seems to be very helpful a lot for my datacenter automation planned.
I downloaded and install HPBIOSCmdlets-x64.msi with all prerequisites follow instructions on :
Unfortunately, I cannot get it to works. I have got errors everytime when use Connect-HPBIOS command. I alway get this...
PS C:\> Connect-HPBIOS -IP 10.123.123.123 -Username MyiLOUser-Password MyPasswordConnect-HPBIOS : Failed for 10.123.123.123:Make sure iLO VSP and WinPE EMS is correctly set. You can use New-HPBIOSCustomWinPEImage to create a custom WinPE image that can check and update the iLO VSP and WinPE EMS settings. At line:1 char:1 + Connect-HPBIOS -IP 10.123.123.123 -Username MyiLOUser-Password MyPassword + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (:) [Connect-HPBIOS], HPBIOSException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : HPBIOSCmdlets.ConnectHPBIOS
Can anyone help me to resolve this problem?
It's seems like some bugs on loading this HPBIOS PS module.
Thanks in Advance,
Jobbo
IMHO the only way is to reset the system via System maintenance switch.
...
When the system maintenance switch position 6 is set to the On position, the system is prepared to erase all
system configuration settings from both CMOS and NVRAM.
As I feared, thank you Torsten for your response!
I see all temperatures in ilo, so i will install newest proliant service pack and then I will try again. thanks for this idea.
I don't recall all the RBSU setting on that system, but look for PCI enable/disable options or under IRQ settings

Hello
You have received some great information on your question. The only question that is lacking is according to page 3 of the HP H240 Smart Host Bus Adapter QucikSpecs the HP H240 is compatible with the Microsoft Windows 2012 R2. I recommend looking at the HP ProLiant ML150 Gen9 Server Option Parts, which will give you the part numbers for the drive cages and the cable kit you will need.
The HP H240 12Gb 2-ports Int Smart Host Bus Adapter (726907-B21), the HP ML150 Gen9 4LFF Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit (725872-B21), HP ML150 Gen9 8SFF Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit (725874-B21), and the HP ML150 Gen9 Mini SAS H240 Cable Kit (784606-B21) are all available directly through HP.
Another option is, I am able to connect you to an HP Sever specialist for more options or configurations. Please let me know if you are interested.
Im also having a problem setting up ILO, my question is if the static ip adress should be same as my static ip set in windows server or should it be different?
lets say im using 192.168.1.6
mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1
so should the ip for ILO be 192.168.1.6 or something different?
and also is that everything that need to be configured for using ILO?
Cause im not able to access ILO via web ...
thanks a lot for help

I thought that if others knew what they were, they could better help you.
Pardon the long delay. Update / logs follow.
After updating the iL0 4 firmware the system health indicator reverted to healthy.
localhost:2381 displays health system status.

Hi,
Tesla GPU may not be compatible with older generation servers. Its suitable for SL series and few ML/DL servers of Gen8 and Gen9.

Hi,
Its called Automatic Power-On option in BIOS.
Use this option to configure the server to automatically power on when AC power is applied to the system. By default, the system returns to its previous power state when AC power is restored after an AC power loss. This option sets the system to always return to the “on” state, even if it was in the “off” state when power was lost.
To set Automatic Power-On:
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration→BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)→Server Availability→Automatic Power-On and press Enter.
2. Select a setting and press Enter:
• Always Power On—The system automatically returns to a power on state.
• Always Power Off—The system automatically returns to a power off state.
• Restore Last Power State (default)—The system automatically returns to its previous power off state.
3. Press F10 to save your selection.
Thank You!

Yes, you're right.
But in this case the light goes on independently although no one is logged in!
The last week, after I turned off the light manually it stays off until friday.
Today I see, the light is turned on again!
Hi folks,
I don't understand the different drive options of ML150 GEn9 systems. Is it possible to get some help from here? So what I would like to achieve is a small Hyper-V 2012 R2 system with
-3 SFF SAS disks on P440 (RAID 1 with hotspare, controller has FBWC)
- mirrored 4GB or 6GB SATA drives for daily and/or nearline backups connected to onboard SATA connectors
- DVD-Drive
- internal LTO-2-Drive on SC11xe for long term backups, stored abroad
I would like to reuse the given LTO-2-Drive, which is connected to an Adaptec 29160 in the old server.
Is such a configuration possible? Do I need any special cages ?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge,
Stefano
