Hello,

is there any particular reason why hprest.exe needs to be "Run as Administrator" on Windows? Communication with remote systems via HTTP/HTTPS should normaly not require administrative privileges.

Are there any plans to update the Powershell BIOS Cmdlets to use RESTful instead of SSH?

Regards

I can answer the second question - Yes we do have plans to do that.

But maybe you are not aware of another solution; there is a set of PowerShell cmdlets available for the HPE rest interface on iLO.  It is downloadable on the Microsoft PowerShell Gallery.  Go here https://www.powershellgallery.com/.  Follow directions.  It implies that Win 10 is required, but you can use PS 5 and the Gallery on Win 7 SP1 and forward.  Once installation is done find and install the HPRESTCmdlets.  There is also a file containing examples of how to use them installed with the cmdlets called HPRESTExamples.ps1.  These cmdlets are more generic but can be used to do iLO and BIOS settings available through the HPE Rest interface iLO provides.  The set of examples will grow over time.  These are HPE supported.
