Hi Albrahim,

Good day!

Please note that the version of the SPS that was used to update the server has been removed from the HPE website.

*REMOVED* ROM Flash Firmware Package - Server Platform Services (SPS) Firmware for HPE Gen10 Servers

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_8d1148a85dde488ebeec6d6aa4#tab-history

REMOVED - This version of the SPS is NO LONGER AVAILABLE for download. It has been removed from the web for a flash update issue where systems upgrading from older SPS firmware versions can result in a system becoming non-bootable. A new version of the flash update will be made available at a future time.

Please try flashing the server using the latest Service Pack for Proliant which shoudl bring the server SPS version to

04.01.04.339.

Thank you for the update.

As per the User Guide: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-a00059962en_us

SNMP server managementFor SNMP Server management, wherever device support is available, SNMPv3 is used. HPE OneViewuses the ILO SNMP interface for server management. However, this interface is not FIPS-compliant. Theauthentication and privacy protocols used vary based on the protocols supported by the specific versionof the device.

If any other server is working fine with FIPS enabled, we request to re-configure the SNMP on the server having issue monitoring.

Please update the status once done.

ML110 G9 accelerates fan with Nvidia Quadro M2000

Hi, good afternoon.

I've just incorporated this graphics card to the server, installing all its drivers provided by Nvidia for the Windows Server 2016 operating system. I also made a scan with SPP to see if there was any firmware for this graphics card, but there was nothing. Report that the server is in the dynamic/balanced power system.

The thing is that the PCI fan has gone from working at 6% to 20%, a considerable increase in the fan speed. Please note that the graphics card is proprietary to HP, which is what the documentation for this server indicates as compatible.

iLO also does not display any information or serial number of the graphics card. A photo has been added to the post.

Is there any way to reduce this 20% to the previous state?

I use the server to work at home, and the noise is quite annoying.

Hello

Because it is a community-supported environment, there are limitations to the support HPE can offer our CentOS customers.

  • HPE provides Management Component Packs for CentOS that contain: Agentless Management Service (amsd), Smart Storage Administrator (ssacli), Smart Storage Administrator Diagnostic Utility(ssadu), iLO Configuration Utility (hponcfg). See the HPE Linux Software Delivery Repository.
  • HPE provides support for the hardware and offline firmware updates for HPE servers installed with CentOS
  • HPE maintains a forum in which customers can discuss Linux issues, find answers, share knowledge and discuss solutions in the HPE Servers and Operating Systems - Linux Community Forums.
  • HPE is unable to certify CentOS on any of our servers as there is no official certification test suite for CentOS
  • HPE does not release driver updates for CentOS. Customers using CentOS should confirm that the drivers they need are in the CentOS distribution.
  • HPE utilities and tools that work on other versions of Linux are not guaranteed to function the same on CentOS

In your case I would like to sadly inform you that DL380 G4 will not support Cents OS

Thank you

Hello,

Greetings for the day.

Please ensure that the driver and firmware are up to date for the card.

We have checked the HPE website however there are no drivers mentioned for Win Server 2016.

Although while checking the NVIDIA site, I came across the below driver for Nvidia Quadro M2000 card:

https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/111574/en-us

You may update the same driver and check the behaviour.

Disclaimer: Please note that the above driver is provided by NVIDIA and HPE can not confirm if the same will work or not as the same has not been tested on the HPE end.

Also please ensure that the server has sufficient fans installed to support the card as per the quick specs of ML110 Gen9 Server.

Also set the below performance settings on BIOS level and check the functionality:

Power Management Options > HP Power Profile > Maximum Performance

Power Management Options > HP Power Regulator > HP Static High Performance Mode

Power Management Options > Advanced Power Management Options > Collaborative Power Control > Disabled

Power Management Options > Advanced Power Management Options > Minimum Processor Idle Power Core State > No C-States

Power Management Options > Advanced Power Management Options > Minimum Processor Idle Power Package State > No Package State

Thanks

Hi I_AN,

thanks for the helpful answer. I changed the controller now to a P841 with 4GB cache. The Backup is working. But i still can not change the Block size. I run the controller in HBA-Mode and in RAID-Mode. No difference. Is there a tool or a cli command to change the blocksize.

I did not find a way in the Smart Storage Administrator.

Thanks
Markus

DL80 Gen 9 + RAID Controller P440

Hello everyone,

we have a HP DL80 Gen9 server with 8 Drives in a logical Array.

We installed a compatible RAID Controller ( P440) that according to this page is compatible with the server.

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04520221

The partNumber of the controller is this one: 726821-B21

The server does not POST correctly, I've installed firmware updates from a service pack 2020 we had and still does't POST correctly, it takes at least 3/4 hours to post and than the RAID controller is not dected in Smart Provisioning, I've tried the card in a different server and it boots fine & Works correctly.

I've triple checked and both are compatible, what else do you recomend trying?

I had tried different energy efficiencies, but the PCI fan was still at 20%.

As for the drivers, I can't put one that was released in 2016 and hasn't had any revisions, that's either spoiling the graphics card or losing performance. I read that these servers are quite fussy when you install something on the X16, and that's exactly what happened to me. I have a P440 4GB controller underneath, and I've never had any problems. I finally gave up and removed the graphics card from the server, the sound was quite annoying. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the reply; i tried flashing to the previous version but I am getting the message: the last firmware update was not successful, so the rollback process stops with error, I even tried to flash the firmware using hpqlocfg.exe with no success

Greetings!

The 8 drives in logical Array, were they already configured on another controller or have you configured the logical drive after installing the controller?

I understand the card is not detected in Smart Storage Administrator.

-> Do you see the card getting initialised during POST?

-> Is the RAID controller card detected in BIOS?

-> If not, do you have a vacant PCIe slot to test the card?

The different server where the card works fine. Is it the same model (DL80 Gen9)?
