Try changing the standard boot order in RBSU and move USB after the hard disk

support pack 9.10

Hello

I try to deploy the support pack 9.10 on a HP DL380e Gen8 server on windows 2008 R2 through HP SIM  7.2.0
So I use the "Deploy / Deploy Drivers... / Install Software and Firmware" menu.
Then I choose my "support pack 9.10" and starts execution.
The task runs a while (running status) then goes into failure.
In the logs of the VCA server target, I get this error : "The Version Control Agent POSTed a InstallComplete category event with severity code 0 to URL https://192.168.2.2:280/cpqevent. An unexpected status of 0 was returned."

Thanks for your help

No docuemntation from HP having information about  sensor location in server for G5 server's

it is a technology invented for servers, G6, G7 and G8.
you find on each component a thermal sensor for those generation of servers only [G6G7 and G8].

DL380G6 download drops

Hi All,

I have 2x DL380G6 with WIndows 2012 R2 whit the same problem. When I start a download (i try i lot of different sites) the download drops and fluctuate. When I connect my laptop or another server on the same cable the download is stable. So my conclusion is is the onboard nic.

What I tried:

- Update fimrware NIC

- Update driver NIC

- Update Windows (patches)

- change all the default nic settings like disable tcp offload for example

- Try another switch

The NIC I use is the default onboard: HP NC382i DP. I tried all the ports.

See the screenshot also:

Is there anyone who has a stable network connection with a DL380G6 and Windows 2012 R2 or an idea to fix this?

Are your server up to date with SPP? [2013 or 2014]

I've an ML310 G5 whith a Windows 2003 Server x64 operative system.

In this server, the actual driver version is: 1.4.17015.0; if I try to update the driver to the version 1.5.17023.0 (I can download them from here: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=3580656&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253DMTX_9f7f55abe7ff44bba2d1f186b2%257CswEnvOID%253D1113%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D8%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken ) I've the error in attachment.

In the device manager I can't see a "deleted device" even if after a reboot or after having checked to show hidden devices. Where can I see the log file?

Thank you

No, i think is a BIOS of server or firmware of P410 controller problem, because when on boot the P410 are not recognized, i have to remove P410 controller, power on server without it then power off, install P410 controller then power on, and server boot correctly with P410 recognized!!!

probably BIOS rebuild a PCI IRQ assignement !!!

scharchouf,

So, if I'm reading this correctly, SPP 2013.02 directly to 2014.02 is not a supported upgrade path?

This is completely crazy. I have this problem: "Controller with Flash-Backed Write Cache from Halting During Power-On Self Test with POST Error 1783 After a Power Loss" but the solution listed is to run an *online* flash firmware update - obviously an imposssible task if the controller isn't responding.

I found an offline update which could work... but its an .scexe, with no indication of how to install it.

so I fell back to trying the hpsum offline utility... and have been banging my head against what has got to be one of the most unfriendly, impossible to use tools I've ever found.

Whats wrong with a simple button 'Update my server' or a list of updates with 'install me' buttons. This baseline rubbish is totally incomprehensible and the tool just plain doesn't work. Nothing seems to let me add the obligitory baseline - without any indication of what its actually looking for.

Didn't they consider that someone may not have a baseline to start with?

Bizarrely I had downloaded a version called HPSUMCB620.2014_0130.11.iso, which was a sprightly 545Mb. Here in this thread everyone is saying we should download  version 2014_02 - which weighs in at no less than 3.2Gb! What on earth happened over the course of a month or two between the two versions?

it is not a question of ownership, but a logical order during the update of your servers because after the PSP there are many version that came out, and the new SPP asks to have updated the server with a version of 2013

I just had this exact same issue. Disabling the external USB ports fixed the issue as well.

Reboot server

Press F9 for bios/setup

System Settings

USB

Disable External USB

Reboot and now working!!

Thanks guys!

Hi, I have HP ML350 g6 with P410i controller. One array with Two logical drives. Two physical drives in bay 1 and 2 of the server. I just installed two more physical drives in bay 3 and 4 of the server.  I have ACU installed and want to configure the new drives as One more Logical drive. HOw do I add another Logical drive. I thought I've done this before - but for some reason - I;m not seeing an option to configure the new drives as a new logical drive.

Thanks for your response.

Let me prefix this by saying: HOLY CRAP;  Thank you everyone!  In particular, My final solution was reached by following hase3d's guide

I was working from a mac so burning a bootable iso of freedos with the changes prooved challenging as I usually use ultraiso for similar things to this on PC, but my workaround was to simply burn two discs, one was a straight burn of the image of freedos, and another of freedos's contents combined with the xdiag and bc08c740.bin files, I swapped the disks once freedos was fully loaded.

I took a picture of the mac addresses of my cards as they were presented with the xdiag -b06eng command with intent to restore the same addresses when I was finished in hopes it preserved all functionality in vmware esxi which was running on this server (it seemed to work as I haven't had to make any changes in esxi after booting), but I noticed the second nic had the same mac as the first nic... so I changed the second nic by one digit (which I wasn't using in esxi anyhow and didn't need) now I am wondering if that is where the original conflict was coming from all together, I wonder if the second nic's mac was just messed up, and am curious what would happen if I had not loaded a new bin, but instead changed only the mac addresses via the nvm cfg command and rebooted.

All of that aside... IT WORKED!

I can't believe it, but IT WORKED!

I would have NEVER EVER EVER figured this out on my own, so thank you so much for going to the trouble of creating a guide for this, working download links and all!

NOTE: My server was a DL385 G5, so it probably has slightly different hardware, but the .bin link you gave worked just fine for me.  My original symptoms occured almost exactly the same way.  I updated firmware via the old style hp firmware disks, everything went fine.  Tried to upgrade to the 2013 disk, and it wouldn't let me, so Went down to the 2012 SPP disk, and it worked fine (I didn't try loading up esxi at this point, so I don't know if the cards were working here or not, but it booted just fine).  Then I loaded a 2014 disk to apply my last patches and the latest updates (it needed a firmware update from 2012 first to resolve the issue I encountered in the 2013 disk), suddenly the server would not boot!  I ended up resetting the rom by opening the server and flipping switches 1, 5, and 6, as described in another tutorial I found on another site - thankfully the server booted and everything looked fine.  Unfortunately I was unaware that the network cards were not working, and to resolve the issue of them not loading in vmware ESXI, I had to burn cd's with vmware driver updates (I assumed that the cards were now too "new" for esxi 5.1 to reccognize and I needed driver updates... this assumption was wrong) to no avail.  Finally, I gave up and found this forum post and followed the instructions to resolve my issue.  Also, in hopes some ESXI users stumble in here, I was getting " vmfs3 failed to load " errors as well as " no compatible network adapters found " errors, and despite what it may lead you to believe, my network cards were actually being seen as "removed".

THANK YOU!  (sorry this is a wall of text, wife waiting for me to meet her for dinner, I just really felt the need to reply and say thanks!)

Welcome to the forums. It's best to post a new topic when you have a question. This thread is almost 5 years old.

To answer your question.   You put disks in an array, and then create logical drives within that array. You can create a new array and logical drive for the new disks, or you can expand the current array and add another logical drive using the free space.  In your case it is probably easier to create another array and then create a new logical drive within the new array

From the information I've gotten from the SPP team, you can go from any version to the latest. There is no requirement to do a version to version upgrade.
