No that power supply is for the G6/G7 line of servers, you would need to buy new DC power supply for Gen8 and you will have to re-image your server since the CPU/CHIPSET is so vastly different!

While Xenserver is not a supported OS on this platform, it should work. You will need to put the disk controller in plain AHCI SATA mode. There is not an hpvsa driver available for Xenserver when the controller is in Smart Array B120i mode. THe server also only supports SATA drives unless you install an add-in SMart Array

Splitting a logical drive in RAID
There is a ProLiant 360 g6 server with P410i controller.
8 x 1Tb hard drives are configured as RAID 1+0 into 1 logical drive (3,6Tb)
Then it's was partitioned into 300gb+3300gb partitions during Windows installation.
The problem is, that logical drive is MBR and second partition has 1,7gb unallocated space.
The only solution I see is to configure array as 2 logical drives (MBR for OS and GPT for data storage). Is there any way to do it without deleting current array fully and split logical drive into 2 because I need to save Windows Server installation alive.

HP SUM 7.10 Erros
Hi,
i'm having two inventory problems in HP SUM 7.10:
1. Nodes with any version of windows 2003 OS after inventory i get an error: " Unable to start hpsumservice engine on node %2.", when trying to start manually hpsum_service on server i'm getting an error: " error 1053 the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".
2. some of my linux nodes work fine but in some of them i'm getting error after inventory: " Error: The specified Remote node's hpsumservice has failed to communicate to Host Node. Resolution: Please check http/s route exist between both nodes."
please advise if you know how to solve this problem.

I have localized the black thin cable which goes to the right part of front panel (to LEDs and power button). The cable was a litte bit cut down, probably by unwary closing of a lid. I secured it with an electrical tape and now sensor shows +24C.

G7 DL165 board won't powerup
Hi there,
I have a DL165 G7 board laying here and thougt it would be nice to build something out of it.
I'm trying to power it up with only 1 processor and 1 bank of memory on a CORSAIR 750 Platinum power supply.
So nothing else connected to the board...
It turns on for 1 sec and turns off immediately.
On the board internaly: BMC led is flashing and the leds CR3, CR6, CR8 are green.
Can it be some fan protection? because I do not have any fan connected to the board? (cooler runs on molex connection)

These servers are L2 pass through products, so I don't know the specifics of these servers.
However with ProLiant servers in general you cannot mix different power supplies in the same server, even if they have the same Watt-age. So I would definitely check if the same spare part power supplies are being used.

On which generation servers are you trying to run it and in combination with what SPP?
Be aware that the latest SPP only supports G6 and newer and does not support Windows Server 2003 at all (as far as I know).

ML115G5 BIOS - Softpaq SP44683.exe
Hi there
I'm trying to get this old ML115G5 server up-and-running for a non-profit organisation as a test/dev setup running CentOS.
I've never before encountered a company who insist upon a service contract for 5 year old hardware to download a BIOS update. There is no way that this organisation can sign up to such a thing.
I know it is very cheeky, but does anyone have a copy of the relevant Softpaq - SP44683.exe - lying around anywhere? And, yes, I'm sorry to official HP people for this one...

HP ProLiant Dl380 G2 Won't display, no POST, CR49 + Proc1&2 Amber - is it MOBO?
Hey guys. I recently got an old Proliant DL380 G2 server to mess with, but it won't boot. The display never lights up, and the error lights CR49, Proc1 and Proc2 lights, as well as an SVC light in one of the bays.
I know next to nothing about servers; I mainly got it to learn.
I am prepared to buy a replacement board on ebay, but I don't want to if the mobo isn't the problem.
Is there anything else you need to know? Also, is the serial number the one on the side that starts with "3902"?
I'm actually not even sure that it's a G2, when I googled the "3902" number on the side I found listings on ebay that said G2 - which makes me think it's not the serial because it would be unique, right?

I checked VCRM, and I found 2014.09.0 was detected as "Invalid Support Packs" even it was selectable on HPSIM console.
Therefore, I recreated the repository, run "rescan repository & rebuild catalog", then it fixed the problem.
Now I can select "Offline" upgrade from 2014.09.0.

Intermittent Network Connection
Good day.
Just want to consult regarding the problem I encountered with my current set-up. I have HP Proliant DL360p Gen8 Server running on Windows Server 2008 R2. Everytime I connected the 4 Network (NIC) I encountered intermittent Network Connection. I cannot even access any GUI of my camera because of the intermittent connection.
By the way, I used the server as camera server and for storage.
Any recommended configuration for the server to balanced the network load since its hosting the cctv cameras as well as the SAN Storage.
Looking forward to hear positve input/s coming from you guys. Thanks and more power.

HP vibsdepot - release notes/versioning
hi all,
Just wondering how I can get the release notes of vmware vibs made available by HP.
Basically I am running vmware 5.5 on DL580G7 hosts and have recently successfully created a baseline to point to the HP vibsdepot. It donwloads the updates, etc but I cannot find anywhere what versions of which components are being updated, etc
I attach and scan the host, then remediate. It installs the updates fine but I would like to understand what is being updated and the versions. One thing I am 100% is that the latest updates did not change the driver/firmware version of our Qlogic NC375i and NC375T cards as I checked the version prior and after update.
