Hi,

I have a DL380 Gen8 server which is connected to an enclosure. To a power loss event, server shut down and after boot I'm receiving this error message:

Replacement drives detected or previously failed drives now appear to be operational.

Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss.

Select F1 to continue with logical drives disabled.

Select F2 to accept data loss and to re0enable logical drives.

I haven't changed any disk and all disks appears to be healty and led is green. is there any possible data loss? what can I do before re-enabing logical drives??

I have a HP DL 380 G6 that it is connected to a APC UPS Pro 1500 and once the power is lost from utility the server shuts off then on the information panel it complains about the power supply’s being bad though I can press the power button and it boots fine

A HP DL360 G6 and the same model of UPS has no issue with power loss.

Two X5670s
72 GB of RDIMM memory
Two 750 Watt power supplys with power cap enabled

What does "nothing from" a hard drive mean?

Are there LED indicators on the main board?  Have you found a manual
for this system?

   Added or replaced?  Why?

Almost anything.  Did this system ever work?

HP DL380 G6 P410i smart array wont get enabled in the bios.

Every time I enable the smart array in the bios of DL 380 G6 and save the changes with F10 and the server gets rebooted, the smart array gets disabled like nothing happened. I'm able to change other things in the bios and it's being saved normally except enabling the smart array.

I upgraded the Bios Firmware to the latest and booted with smart start CD and still same issue. Also, I dont get F8 option when the server is booting. Did anyone experience this issue before?

DL380Gen9 Server PCI NUMA allcation

Hi,

We have a DL380Gen9 Server with 24CPU's and two threads of 12CPU each, loaded with Ubuntu[14.04.1]. We have loaded the PCI slot with NIC's and when checked for NUMA node for PCI's slots, i could see all the NIC's are mapped to single NUMA node (/sys/class/net/*/device/numa_node). Which should be expected, am i correct?

Is there any way we can allocate NUMA node for PCI from diffrent Node?

Are one able to place Intel DC P3500 into ProLiant DL360R5 X/5160 - 2 GB (partnumber 416566-421) to accelerate running Microsoft SQL Server and Windows 10 Professional on that ProLiant?

https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/recording/2662913092170962690

Short answer with yes or no is okay. Maybe verfitication if this accelerates exitent OS and databases by so that one would see it imedatly or if this is nonsense.

Dirk

Hi everyone

I'm new at this site, I found an older hp ml350 g4 server, i want to use it for a private project, but i dont have an enterprise account so i can get access to https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_e2d7c3a480d14cc99dbafb2981&lang=en-us&cc=us#tab-history to update the bios. Looking at the website i need some kind of enterprise servicing contract with hp to access the files, is there a way to get the files as a private person?

I would be gratefull for any directions.

Thanks!

Firmware update on Linux

I am trying to update the firmware on my ML10 Gen9. It is running Arch Linux, fully updated.

I downloaded the firmware package from the HPe website, did the sha256sum check which matched.

The instructions are wrong and make no sense, but luckily its no rocket science. I run the script as root. It dumps the following blurp. I checked the script all it does is chmod 777 on the executable and run it with some parameters. I tried running it manually and tried /h or --help. it allways outputs this blurp:

/data/software/Linuxflash_with_BATCH/.temp/amifldrv.c:42:1: warning: data definition has no type or storage class
 module_init(amifldrv_init_module);

Can anyone help me make sense of this so i can upgrade to the latest firmware please?

Thanks!
