Just tried a 6TB drive in ML110G5. Bios thinks it is 1.6TB. Windows 7 sees 6TB but will only format to 2TB drive. Apparently can get to 3TB if formatted as GPT.

ML350 G4 BIOS acsess to drivers and bios updates with no enterprise contract, for a private project
Hi everyone
I'm new at this site, I found an older hp ml350 g4 server, i want to use it for a private project, but i dont have an enterprise account so i can get access to https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_e2d7c3a480d14cc99dbafb2981&lang=en-us&cc=us#tab-history to update the bios. Looking at the website i need some kind of enterprise servicing contract with hp to access the files, is there a way to get the files as a private person?
I would be gratefull for any directions.
Thanks!
HP Proliant ML310e Gen8 V2 won't boot pass 20% and emits continuous beeps
Sorry for the long post but this is what is happening.
Server is a Proliant ML310e Gen8 V2 - serial Number CZ142501UD, 16GB Ram all HP compliant, all have HP sticker. Single CPU Intel (don't get to see the processor and can't remember model)
Server powers up, and just after 10% it reboots/resets and starts again, I think this is by design, during the next stage the POST screen shows 10% Early Processor Initialization, then jumps to 20% Memort and QPI Link Initialization Start, and after a few seconds, the servers emits fast continuous beeps, screen goes black, same in the iLO console and it just seats there beeping. When I press and hold the power button, the fans stop and the power button goes orange, also during the POST the power button is green (Normal Mode).
If, I use the console in iLO and ask it to do a cold boot, the server resets and the power light starts blinking green but the server never boots up. I have to remove the power to reset the server and then the cycle repeats itself. The same happens if I press the power button.
Tests perfomed;
Removed all the RAM and tested every module individually with the same results
removed all ram, beeps changed to show no ram in the system
Reset the dip switch 6 on maintenance switch, no change
removed ambient sensor, no change
disconnected SAS drives and SATA DVD, no change
Last test - disconnected everything, leaving only CPU, 1 MEM Module, and Power Supply - same result
I am now at a loss what it could be and any help would be much appreciated. Is there something else I can do before I start replacing parts?
thank you for your assistance.
SATA 6 HDD Capability?
We have a HPE ML30 Gen9 E3-1220v5 and it came with a HPE 1TB SATA installed in one of the four bays of the Smart Array.
We have changed this for four Enterprise SATA SSD's. Each physical pair of SSD's is in RAID 1. This all works fine and the drives are recognised as logical drives.
We would like to utilise the packaged SATA hard drive as another drive. However we have ran into problems.
We were unable to use the SATA 6 (blue) connection on the motherboard. The drive is not recognised by the system.
Does this require some adjustments in the BIOS or is there something else we are missing?
IPMI Interface, System Base Device and Universal Serial Bus(USB) Controller drivers not found on HP
Hello. I have an HP Proliant ML310 G5p with Windows Server 2012 R2 as OS installed on it. On installation all drivers mentioned as follows IPMI Interface, System Base Device and Universal Serial Bus(USB) Controller drivers are not working. But 1 day, all these drivers have stopped working. I have uninstalled my latest windows update to see whether it was due to it but unfortunately. Can someone help me out.
Re: HP WBEM provider
I found that the shown Clientprocess-ID belongs to AMS (HP Proliant Agentless Management Service) .
When i stop AMS there are no more errors.
But why ?
Proliant ML330 G6 - silent diskless?
Hello,
What I really want to achive is to get it run much more silent. The fans are pretty noisy (64db)
http://www.nidec.com/en-Global/product/fan/category/F010/G080/P2000405/
Some ideas
- If I boot from SD card I don't think having 1st HDD-cage has no value in this scenario.
- should be able to remove upper fan connected to 26(manual)/35(sticker of case) if I remove all connectors to 1st HDD-cage
- If I remove cpu heatsink and replace that with active cooler I should be able to get rid of the lower fan also.
- now all fans but case fan in the back have 6-pin connector which only users 4 center ones and cables are black, red, yellow and blue
- and connector 24(manual)/30(sticker of case) has similar female connector as the fans but yellow (tacho) and blue(pwm) are interconnected
- so could it be that simple, just find similar connectors as fans and interconnect yellow and blue?
ML10v2 replace video card
I want to replace the video card with HDMI for a better screen picture and video. I don't play games on it but use it for browsing, running my plex, crashplan, and blueiris PoE camera server.
I got a cheap x16 PCIE 2.0 video card but can't get it to boot.
When I plug in the video card, it appears to pick it up as the internal onboard graphics no longer works. But there is no picture using the VGA, HDMI, or DVI ports back to my monitor.
The slot it goes into is x8 but i read that's OK.
Do I need to update the firmware or something to get it to pick up?
The thing also takes like 10-15 minutes to boot up so it's a pain to troubleshoot!
Thanks very much in advance

HP P410i “Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Failed” How to fix?
Hello,
Having a little problem with a Smart Array P410i in a ProLiant DL380G6.
It's RAID5 consisting of 5 disks with an additional 6th disk as spare.
One of the disks had a failure. The disks has been replaced and in hpacucli ctrl slot=0 show config everything seems to be OK, the new disk is marked as spare.
But in the output of hpacucli ctrl slot=0 ld 1 show I can see that the Parity Initialization has the status Initialization Failed.
What can I do to reinitialize parity initialization?
Thank you in advance.
ADUReport is attached (.png extension needs to be removed).

SmartArray P222 & P420 - This physical drive does not support RAID and is not exposed to OS
I am getting an error when adding an HP drive to an HPE SmartArray (I have tried both the P222 and P420 controllers with the same error).
Error:
"This physical drive does not support RAID and is not exposed to OS. It cannot be used for configuration on this controller."
Drive:
2TB 7.2K SAS 2.5"
HP Model: SAVN2000S5xeF7.2
HP Part Number: 791435-002
Manufacturer Model: ST2000NX0353
Has anyone seen this error before? Thoughts? I have looked around and haven't found any information regarding the error and little information about the drive. From the Seagate documentation, I found the drive does support RAID.
Many thanks.
Re: SmartArray P222 & P420 - This physical drive does not support RAID and is not exposed to OS
Hmm, not sure what a drive needs to support RAID, other than the controller must like it??

Ok that worked for me. However:
a) I agree with the other posters. Why don't they just post the .bin ?
b) Why is the support site so hard so search. ?
CPU fan speed at max after G440 to I3-6100 CPU upgrade on ML10 Gen9 (837826-421)
I have just bought an Ml10 Gen 9 837826-421 with a Pentium G4400. it's been fine for a couple of weeks and im pleased with this entry-level server. Ive just upgraded - this morning - the CPU to an i3-6100 3.7 GHZ and now the CPU fan speed is spinning at max.....and the server that has been quietly sitting in the corner of my study for about a month is now off as the sound is absolutely absurd.
Page 18 here - https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04960486 - confirms that this CPU is compatibley with the Mobo...and yet the fan is going bananas.....to the extent that the box is now unusable.
i do NOT have a support contract with this server. if it get one, solely to upgrade the BIOS, is the BIOS from July this year going to solve this problem? can I get a better heatsink and fan for the socket type ?
Speedfan crashes the machine and i cant find any other software thatll help; the fans options are missing in HWMonitor. A Zalman fanmate on ly support 3-pin fan, and this is four. Ive reseated the ambient temp probe...but this hasnt helped; the system fan quietens down on the handoff from BIOS to OS, the the CPU fan is still spinning at absolute maximum speed......
ANy help please. This is really rather annoying......
Re: How to check SPP version installed?
Sorry but i tried that months back that didn't work and then i did research and came up with my way. The one which i posted below.
