Im use a ProLiant DL560 Gen8 (out of warrenty) with a Fusion-io HP 2410GB MLC PCIe ioDrive2 Duo for ProLiant Servers, port 1, ioDrive 1200GB. Since a few Weeks i have follow error in the logs:

We have fixed the issue by mounting ISO file as below way iLO.
iLO Integrated Remote Console > Virtual Drives > Image File > ISO File
I am getting this error message during installation via the below way.

How to detect block corruption ?
Hi,
We are using a HP ProLiant Gen8 server for our Oracle 11g database. Recently we experiences block corruption. Database log says that it is a physical corruption. But there was no alert on harddisk. We have RAID 1 configured on the server.
1. Any tolls to automatically detect and notify for block corruption ?
2. Do RAID recovers block corruption ?

ProLiant DL360 GEN10 VID
Hi,
Could anyone tell me how to disable the Virtual Install Disk (VID) on GEN10 ProLiants please?
I am aware of how to do this on previous GEN but all the informaiton for GEN10 is either impossible to find or is incorrect. I have been into System Configuration>System Options>USB Options but this setting is not present. Nor can I find this setting in other areas of the BIOS.

Hello,
This is sort of a broad question, can you give a little more detail of what type of answer you are expecting? What operating system are you using? Do you already have the servers or buying those? If you already have servers, do they have any NICS or FC/SAS HBAs in them? You mention FC as one need but "direct connect" as another. Do you have a preference on connectivity type on the other (i.e. SAS/iSCSI/FC)? Do you have the MSA 1040 already? Which model is it (1GB/10GB/SAS/FC)?
If you are purchasing all this stuff new then you'd be looking for DL380 Gen10 and MSA 1050 (or 2050).
I'm not sure I understand your question about direct attach and using fibre cable but let me explain a little bit. The MSA 1040 must be purchased in a specific configuration (FC, 1GB iSCSI, 10GB iSCSi, or SAS). Any of these technically support direct connect in which you could use the appropriate cable (RJ45, 10GB SFP+ DAC, SAS cable, or FC cable) to connect from the array to the hosts. However iSCSI direct connect is not supported on some OS's (like ESXi) and SAS connectivity sometimes has a very narrow supported path. In general, FC gives you the most supported options. You can direct connect FC on any supported OS (assuming the HBA supports direct connect) and if the environment grows you simply recable through FC switches. iSCSI can give you similar upgrade options but may require switches from the get go on some OS's (like ESXi).
So, if I didn't answer your question, please provide some more detail about what you have (or are planning on buying) and what type of detail you are hoping to get in a reply.

Proliant ML10 DisplayPort Audio
Hi,
I am using a Proliant ML10 Gen9 as a high-end workstation, one of its advertised uses. The computer has 2 DisplayPort 1.2 graphics outputs. DisplayPort should carry audio via the Intel HD Graphics (the graphics drivers should install drivers for Intel HD Audio) however this does not seem to happen on this computer. As a result Windows reports no playback/audio devices and no sound gets sent to the DisplayPort device. I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers. I know the monitor supports DisplayPort audio as I have another device using the same Intel HD Graphics drivers which can output audio through the monitor. I have verified that the connection between the computer and the monitor is good, both the Intel drivers and the monitor report that the connection is DisplayPort not DVI (so it's not a cabling issue). I believe that HP have disabled the audio functionality in their Intel HD Graphics implementation. There are no BIOS options around audio functionality to enable/re-enable.
Any suggestions?

There is an advisory saying:
"Title: Notice: HPE ProLiant Gen9 and Gen10 Servers - The Virtual Install Disk (VID) Option Has Been Removed From BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)"
The Virtual Install Disk (VID) option was removed from all ProLiant Gen9 servers starting in the version 2.50 (and later) System ROMs and ProLiant Gen10 servers starting with the version 1.20 System ROMs.

DL380 G7 with an P410i and 4 SATA 7E2000 with 1TB
Hello,
after we decide aus for that drives because our Distributor says it should be working....
Today we try to config that drives, we are flashing the firmware to 6.64 and try to config a second raid.
The problem is, we seeing only 250GB instead of the 1TB Disks.
What can be happened?

Drive LED definitions.
You just pull the defective drive. The "do not remove" LED on the other drive will lit.
You insert the new drive, the array will start rebuild.
Check the status in SSA or ILO.

Quick Question about Degraded Fan module
I have a DL360p G8 server.
Originally upon recieving the server I had a problem with the fan noise (I think everyone is aware of the "jet engine" fan noise.). But since upgrading all components to their new firmware, it has been running quiet for months now.
Just recently it has started to "jet-engine". If I reboot the server it will be quiet again; but in about 20 minutes it will "jet engine" again. Looking in the iLO summary I see that Fan Bank 6 is "Degraded". The part is under warrenty, so I'm going to get it replaced, but I'm wondering if the server is ramping up all remaining fans as some kind of self preservation thing?
Just wonding if this is what is actaully going on and I don't have some other problem.
Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, if a redundant fan fails, the remaining fans will go at higher speed.

Revert BIOS version with PowerShell
We are trying to use PowerShell HPEBIOS module to revert GEN9 BIOS back to previous version - since HPE recently pulled the GEN9 firmward update related to Spectre/Meltdown. When I try to do the switch, it tells me:
Unable to execute commands on target system.
The process I am trying is:
Grab a credential object for the iLO (confirmed that works)
Connect-HPBIOS using IP of iLO of test server and crednetial object (confirmed that works - I see a valid connection object)
Run this command:
Set-HPBIOSAdvancedSystemROMOption -Connection $Con -ROMSelection Switch_to_Backup_ROM
This generates the above error. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I confirmed the backup ROM is there when you boot up the server and go into the system utilities.
