I can't find a solution and am spending too much time on it, so have decommisioned the on bard NICs and purchased a NIC Card to go in that machine. Hopefully this will work and bring it back online....

Hard to tell without any test equipment. Maybe I would start with the original SPP and remove everything in hp/swpackages - this will reduce the size by ~ 2.7GB. Most of the other stuff you don't need...

Not sure if this works on the B120i, but it works with other smart arrays ... Set the controller to RAID mode (create a RAID0 per drive for your purposes), go into ACU and set the boot drive.

I would try this with 1 or 2 new disks, I assume switching to RAID may corrupt the data on the disks ...
