Hi sudhirsingh,
I try to install oem nvme adapter to pcie slot 3, as I have second processor installed.
it works when I installed on pcie slot1 or slot2 (Riser 1)

Hi James,
Please download the Gen8.1 SPP from below link then extract and run "launch_hpsum.bat" in windows to update all the driver and firmware.
Interactive mode will let you choose which update you want to install.
Automatic mode will update all the driver and firmware to the latest as per the Gen8.1 SPP release.
Note: Its recommended to keep data backup before updating driver and firmware however its not a destructiveprocess.

Not sure about third party NVME adapters,
However there are multiple NVME options available for Dl360 gen10 which you can consider.

Thanks,
Was it configured under Raid6 earlier (before systemboard replacement)?
Please POST ADU log after activating SAAP license.
Are you using the same license key used earlier ?
If there is no previous configuration/data, did you tried to erase the drive from ACU ?
Atleast the one good drive should be discovered under P410i.
Thanks,
I've gotten hpsmhd installed successfully on my DL380 G8 SuSE 15 box, and I can run it from CLI by using the SMHSTART command, but there is no unit file for autostarting the service under systemd. Does anyone have a pointer?
Thanks!
I have two HPE ML30 Gen9 servers. One has the Intel Xeon E3-1230 v5 CPU (3.4 GHz). The second has the Intel Xeon CPU E3-1240 v6 (3.70GHz). I'm currently using ESXi 6.7 on them, and run Plex on one of the servers.
I'd like to upgrade the CPU of one of them to an Intel Xeon CPU that supports Quick Sync. Can anyone recommend what Intel Xeon CPUs (that support Quick Sync) will work with the HPE ML30 Gen9? Will the HPE ML30's even support Quick Sync if the CPU supported it?
Hello,
SA P816i-a controller supports mixed-mode and you can use OS drive and configure the rest of the hard in VSAN.
But I would like to suggest configure OS hard drive with another SA controller and configure VSAN in other SA controllers to avoiding any issue.

Regards,
This is about Ceph, not vSAN. I brought up vSAN only because there is a VMware KB article that states that mixed mode is not suported with vSAN.
You write that you do not suggest to use mixed mode to avoid issues. What issues? That's what this thread is all about. To get a feeling what issus might be introduced by mixed mode. Some technical information. But I could not find any information _why_ mixed mode is a problem?
Hello,
Again, I would suggest you the supported hardware components with the respected products.
Follow the below SA P822 controller documents for more information.

Hi there,
We have a proliant Gen 8 running 2008 R2 and recently one of the drives failed, so I got a new one but the Smart Storage Administrator software is saying the firmware should be updated from HPD2 to a minimum HPD4 .. problem is the latest one I can find for the drive is HPD2.
Drive: HPE 300GB SAS 6G Enterprise 10K SFF
Model: HP EG000300JWFVB (It says this model is a 12 GBPS but it's definitly 6)
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi Shahrukh,
As per problem description and symptoms report, suspected issue with Power supply backplane, however you can follow below action to isolate the issue.

Hi
In rare instances some of the HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 Servers may display the following error on startup:
"226 Power fault detected - embedded storage controller, Action: re-seat storage controller if removable, otherwise contact support"
Perform the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. If condition permits and FBWC is installed in the embedded controller which is Smart Array P420i Controller, re-seat the FBWC.
2. Boot the server and check for the startup messages.
3. If the FBWC is not installed or the error message continue to show upon system startup, replace the System Board.
This issue should resolved by replacing the system board.
Hello,
I hope all is well.

Hi Forum,
