I understand that Win 7 might not be supported, I wouldn't expect "support".
But I would expect to be able to boot the install disk.
Are you implying that this machine is incompatible with the Win 7 install disk?
Does the same apply to Win 10?

which RAID controller are you using for DL380 Gen9 ?
also are you using UEFI or Legacy BIOS ?
DL380 Gen9 doesn't support 32-bit RHEL6.

Our customer has been given a directive to move to support only TLS 1.2 and above on all their ILO's. They have a mix of ILO''s.
I believe ILO and ILO 2 will not support TLS 1.2 but am not sure about ILO 3. We have updated the firmware on our ILO 3's to the latest firmware, but can only get to TLS 1.1 Support. Is anyone aware of a configuration setting on the ILO' 3's to get us to TLS 1.2 compliance or is there firmware upgrades being planned that will support TLS 1.2

No, there is no SAS Expander Card in our version of the DL380 Gen8. When I manually try to install the latest firmware for the SAS Expander, I get: The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system.
HP Smart Array controllers perform a background surface analysis during inactive periods, continually scanning all drives for media defects. HP Smart Array controllers can also detect media defects when accessing a bad sector during busy periods. If an HP Smart Array controller finds a recoverable media defect, the controller automatically remaps the bad sector to a reserve area on the disk drive. If the controller finds an unrecoverable media defect and you have configured a fault-tolerant logical drive, the controller automatically regenerates the data and writes it to the remapped reserved area on the disk drive.

Interesting! I have not thought of that as an install method. Tomorrow morning I have a mission..Install Windows Server 2016 on the SD Card. I almost gave up and was about to bite the bullet and install on the RAID partion.
Thank you for the info. Although I'm not sure why HPE wouldn't have updated the BIOS for the DL380 Gen8 to make this easier? I updated the BIOS to the most recent version , which according to HPE, supports Windows 2016.
